Jayna Alexandra

Born and raised in Philadelphia, Jayna Alexandra graduated from Temple University with a bachelor’s degree in journalism. As an undergrad, she worked at three local news stations in Philadelphia, edited her university’s newspaper and reported at her campus TV station. Clare Amari

Clare Amari, a graduate student at Columbia Journalism School, has worked on Capitol Hill, at several independent bookstores and, most recently, as a legal assistant at a large international law firm in Manhattan. Remmy Bahati

Remmy Bahati is a Ugandan journalist and student at Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism. She served as the U.S. national correspondent for NBS Television and as a political reporter attached to the Ugandan Parliament. Sebastian Biber

Sebastian Biber, a native of Switzerland, is a student at the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism. He graduated from Boston College, majoring in international studies. He’s interested in broadcast journalism and plans to cover foreign policy. Twitter: @sebastian_biber


Hannah Flynn

Hannah Flynn grew up on Long Island. She graduated from Binghamton University, where she studied English, and worked as a legal assistant before enrolling at the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism. She loves the beach and chocolate chip cookies. Twitter: @HannahFlynn23


Shanna Kelly

Shanna Kelly, a New Jersey native, is a Columbia University Journalism graduate student. She graduated from James Madison University’s Honors College where she studied journalism, Spanish, translation and interpretation, and was managing editor of The Breeze. Man Sum Lai

Before entering Columbia Journalism School, Man Sum Lai was a translation major at the University of Hong Kong. She became a breaking news reporter for HK01 in her sophomore year and covered the city’s anti-extradition law protests last year. Caroline Li

Before attending Columbia Journalism School, Caroline Li earned her bachelor’s degree in journalism at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She aspires to pursue a career in sports journalism and hopes to cover the Olympics in 2021. Twitter: @Carolineee_07


Dala Osseiran

Allie Pitchon

Eli Rallo

Eli Rallo graduated from the University of Michigan where she studied theatrical producing and political science. She’s interned at the Staten Island Advance as a contributing writer, and wrote a column for the Michigan Daily magazine in college. She is interested in covering politics and culture. Marie Schulte-Bockum

Before attending Columbia Journalism School, Marie Schulte-Bockum, a native of Germany, worked on the sports desk of FOCUS Online, a national news portal based in Munich, Germany. Xiang Shen

Artemis Tsagaris

Artemis Tsagaris, born and raised in Long Island, New York, graduated from Fordham University with a degree in journalism and a concentration in sports. Seiji Yamashita

Seiji Yamashita is a Japanese American journalist originally from the San Francisco Bay area. Prior to attending Columbia Journalism School, he studied international relations at the University of Rochester, and jazz piano performance at the Eastman School of Music. Bridget Yassme

Before attending Columbia Journalism School, Bridget Yassme graduated from Wesleyan University with a sociology degree. In Accra, Ghana, she worked in radio and television, then returned to New York to become a NBCUniversal page and a production assistant at MSNBC.
